The Power of Intention ⚡

Written by: Selysa Love

The hustle of daily life can seem so demanding of our energy and attention. Have you been taking time to check in with yourself, your needs, and your desires?

"You create your thoughts, your thoughts create your intentions, and your intentions create your reality."

- Wayne W. Dyer

Change your reality with a daily intention setting practice. This is a powerful, simple exercise that only takes a few minutes each day. By doing so, you'll become more aware of your mind and the trajectory of your life.

How do I set intentions?

Setting an intention is like creating a guide that brings you closer to where you want to be. This can include positive & purposeful phrases. You may follow these steps:

  • Take a few minutes to focus & self-reflect.

  • Determine what your values & heartfelt desires are.

    • Examples of values:

      • Authenticity

      • Compassion

      • Self-development

    • Examples of heartfelt desires:

      • Joy

      • Healing

      • Self-love

  • Write down an intention that aligns with your values & desires.

    • Try to include intentions in these areas of well-being:

      • Mental

      • Emotional

      • Physical

      • Spiritual

  • Take action to demonstrate the intention you chose.

  • Revisit this intention throughout your day.

Examples of intentions:

  • If one of your desires is to increase your self-love, your intention could be, "I will care for myself," or "I love myself." You could demonstrate this by spending more time in solitude and honoring, as well as prioritizing your commitments to yourself.

  • If self-development is one of your values, you could write down, "I'm a life-long learner." This could be expressed by reading a book, taking a course, or starting a new hobby.

It helps to read your intentions frequently, or even aloud, while imagining them to already be true. As you make a habit of setting and implementing a daily intention, you will feel the power that you have in actualizing your full potential!

No matter where you're at in your journey to embodying your best self, you can start right now.

What intention will you set today?
