The Simplest Meditation Ever
Written by: Selysa Love
Often, the best solution is the simplest. Reiki has given us one of the least complicated meditation techniques of all time, called Gassho Meditation.
Gassho means "palms of the hands placed together." This technique can be used to clear the mind, center your energy, and induce relaxation.
To practice Gassho Meditation, relax into a seat with your eyes closed and your hands touching in prayer position. Put all of your awareness on the sensation of your middle fingers touching.
It is normal for the mind to wander. When you notice that your attention has drifted, lovingly let the thought go, and bring your awareness back to the sensation of your middle fingers touching.
That's it! It's that simple. You simply focus on the point where your middle fingers connect. It is recommended to practice this meditation for twenty minutes every morning or evening. If you are brand new to meditation, you may want to start with one minute and work your way up.
Just one minute of meditation is way more powerful than zero minutes of meditation.
You can use a meditation timer, or simply follow your intuition.
