The crown chakra is the seventh and highest chakra that relates to your spiritual connection. It is the gateway to merging with your higher self and a higher power.
Opening your crown leads to a powerful sense of enlightenment and clarity, helping you to navigate life with the self-realization that you are more than just your physical body. By raising your consciousness and connecting with your spirit or soul, you realize your true divine nature.
The crown chakra is associated with the color purple. Its Sanskrit name is Sahasrara, meaning "thousand petaled," which is symbolic of the complete blooming or unfolding of consciousness.
The crown chakra physically manifests in the brain, crown of the head, and just above the head. It influences the brain functions of intelligence, focus, and memory. This spiritual center is considered to be the entry point for human life force energy.
When the crown is underactive, you may feel isolated, spiritually disconnected, apathetic, or overly skeptical. Issues that can manifest are recurring headaches, lack of focus, and learning difficulties.
But when there's too much energy flowing through the crown and it becomes overactive, you could experience dissociation from the body and feel as though your head is "in the clouds." This can lead to mental fog and confusion.
A blocked crown chakra may be the result of believing that we are separate beings with no real access to a higher power.
On the contrary, when the crown chakra is balanced, you will feel grounded with a strong sense of connection to the divine. You'll experience heightened mental clarity and have a clear perspective with spiritual understanding.
